A few hundred meters after the start the route takes a sharp turn to the left up to Camino el Bajo out of the village. From there they will go through the village of Pomaire. The curvy Camino a Pomaire will take them to road G74, guiding them to Bollenar where they will ride a local circuit 3 times. From there the race continues to the east over road G380, leading them to the Cuesta Mallarauco look-out point. The climb is not steep at all, so this one will not cause too much trouble in the peloton.
At the top there is no time to enjoy the view. The descent is very steep with lots of corners. It is not a coincidence that most of the former winners are good hill-riders with also some downhill capacities.
After the descent the race continues through Talagante for a local round with many corners, then straight through El Monte and El Paico, leading them back to Melipilla.
Before the riders finish at Camino a la Torre, a small steep uphill road with lots of sharp turns, they will ride a very tricky local circuit again at the southside of town. Riders without any technical skills do not stand any chance in this difficult race.
