As always team manager Mark is fairly late with the announcement of his team new season goals and presentation. But as a wise man once said “better late than never”…
First of all the team presentation. Last few seasons 1 2 Cycle changed their team in different disciplines. From cobbles/sprint to climbing/tours and back to cobbles/sprint. Even though the team didn’t change in discipline (again) last season a lot of changes were made. A few riders were sold so Julius Maaskant could be bought from Yuri SuperTeam. Julius was a shadow captain and lead out for the glorious and already a sprinting legend “mister” Ko. He now has the chance to step out of the shadow and ride for his own. And so far this has been a great success, in his first 3 races he managed to get 2 victories and one third place! Next to Julius 1 2 Cycle also houses the cobble legend Darian Hadfield statically the number one cobbler in OCM history! Both Julius and Darian get along great and when needed they have no trouble working for each other!
Next to the introduction of the new captains they are supported by a few great riders, Carlsson the experienced lead out, Teesing the perfect first lead out, Witting the perfect cobble/hill team mate specially trained to support Darian. And there are two talents in training, Jan Mol who is a specialist flatroader/cobbler and Ramiro Vera who could become an excellent sprinter!
Next stop, season goals for season 23!
1. Gain at least 10 results.
2. Reach and stay in division 2.
3. Complete the training of Mol and Vera.
