This season’s press release is a bit late but nevertheless her it is!

Season 24 was another season of change. Where season 23 was a change from a cobble team to a sprint team, season 24 was a change from a sprinting team to a climber’s team. From the 13 new riders no one survived the new cut. In addition 9 new riders joined the team. Here by a new overview of the old and the new riders:

  Old riders:
  - Winfried Reinhold
  - Edward Van Baerlem
  - Teodoro Corvalan
  - Victoriano Parilla
  - Karl Huveneers
  - Huub Neijsen
  - Svatoslav Gottwald
  - Wibo Veenhuis
  - Vincent Vacik
  - Leeroy Sabino
  - Estéfano Pelegrino
  - Monde Chibaza
  - Kasper Wessels

  New riders:
  - Slavomil Dittrich
  - Jakob Rachlin
  - Meine Witting
  - Thomas Zon
  - Gabriel Chagas
  - Michiel Cocu
  - Dirk-Jan Snejder
  - Dederick Hoven
  - Tibau Cortens

These changes where shortly after each other. Because of this 1 2 Cycle dropped down from division 1 to division 3. In total we had 30 days without any top 9 spot meaning no points no money. Nevertheless we have full faith in the new climbing team. This also means we now can participate in tours for the general classification. Our new top riders are Slavomil Dittrich, Jakob Rachlin and Meine Witting.

Slavomil is an experienced rider who is much needed in a new climber’s team. With Jakob we have an experienced tour rider in our team. Jakob has won the general classification as well as the youth classification in the most prestige tour in OCM, the Germany tour. We have great confidence in Jakob for future tours. Last but not least is Meine a very great climber which we stumbled across. Meine is the reason why 1 2 Cycle turned in a climbing team. With 228 climbing points we have great confidence that he will bring in many results. Right now we have a fair mix of young and older riders, a balanced team!

And off course we have to have a review and a preview of 1 2 Cycle’s season goals!

  Season 24 goals (review):
  1. Get into and stay into division 1.
  - 12C stayed in division 1 for a while till 12C changed the team. Not a complete failure.
  2. Participate in a first tour for 1 2 Cycle.
  - 12C joined the Essex Tour, no results but the goal has been reached!
  3. Get at least 10 division 1 results.
  - Complete failure, 12C never had such low results in a season (3 results).
  4. Find a new captain worthy talent and train him.
  - 12C did find a new captain worthy talent even two! (Teodoro Corvalan and Gabriel Chagas, both maxed to soon).

  Season 25 goals (preview):
  1. Join the Volta and get on the podium in the GC.
  2. Buy the TT center and TT train Meine Witting.
  3. Max Michiel Cocu.
  4. Find a second talent to train.
  5. Get back in the top of division 2.

Well there you have it my friends, keep it spinning and till next time!
