Making its way from the well-known cycling city, Vejle, to the capitol of Denmark, København (Copenhagen, red.), the route is known to be non-demanding and a bliss for the fastest sprinters who love a straight forward and not too technical finish.
Travelling the roads from Jutland to Zealand over Funen, the riders pass two bridges - one of them being the Great Belt Bridge which normally isn't possible to cross by bike. The route goes through cities such as Fredericia, Middelfart, Odense, Slagelse and Roskilde - cities that all have fine traditions of gathering the attention of the inhabitants who season after season faithfully cheer along the city streets as the peloton passes by.
Danish Jannic Dyhm (The Fanatics) won the first edition of Vejle-København and is therefore also the first registered winner in the history of OCM. Since Dyhm won the race, multiple former top class sprinters, such as Jacob Nilsson (Team JKS) and Ørn Momme from the once famous Team Festina Vejle team has dominated the race ensuring that the race would not only end up having historical value but also be a prominent race as the OCM organisation expanded.
