Big cars are the things to have and tire pressure is not even slightly as important as the number of miles to the gallon.
On this day of the season, America is trying to get rid of this image. On this day of the season, the highway is closed for cars all the way from Los Angeles to San Diego, California. This means the peleton will have a 12-lane highway all for themselves. The riders never have a rest on this race. From the beginning the pace will be high and the wind will be strong, as there is no wind coverage whatsoever. This means only riders with a strong ability to ride on the flat will have a decent chance for victory. It is not unusual for the peleton to be torn apart in this unique, anti-American experience.
