Starting in Ringkøbing in the north end of Ringkøbing Fjord the riders may enjoy the small town with the red roofs. The spectators in Ringkøbing will have a big smile on their faces as they cheer for the riders. The citizens of Ringkøbing have been proved through studies to be the happiest people in Europe.
Going southeast the riders will cross Skjern Å between Skjern and Tarm which is Denmarks largest river in terms of volume. They won't however have time to enjoy the rich wild life as the speed will be high on the completely flat roads around Ringkøbing Fjord.
The peloton will nevertheless not be able to miss the sight of wind farms. Throughout the municipality wind turbines reaching up to 150 metres high are placed. A very visible testiment to how Ringkøbing-Skjern Municipality works with sustainable energy.
After reaching the southern end of the Fjord the route will take the riders to the coastline. On the narrow isthmus Holmsland Klit the peloton is likely to break up in smaller parts when the strong wind blows across the road.
When turning east on the final 20 kilometres the peloton will come together again and a fast bunch sprint in Ringkøbing is by far the most likely outcome of this race.
