Start and finish is in the small town of Piedra Sola of only approximately 250 inhabitants; however the race attracts many locals from neighboring towns, whom all takes this opportunity to have a great feast while enjoying this event.
The race takes off, going north leaving Piedra Sola towards Tacuarembo and sends the peloton directly into the first testing climbs of the Haedo Range. The terrain of the Haedo Range constantly provides new challenges to the peloton and it is most likely that the winner in the end of the day brought strong assistance in terms of team mates to protect him on first 120 kilometers. On the finishing 17 kilometers the leader group will begin to climb the Cerro Verde, a 9 kilometer steep and draining climb south of Piedra Sola. The Cerro Verde will certainly decide the outcome of the day and who will take the Trophy of the Peidra Sola Grand Prix.

Description
The terrain in Piedra Sola GP hardly includes any climbs and has only easy downhills. The terrain includes many tough and long hills and has only a few flat roads. The stage ends on a small and easy climb. The finishing climb never gets steep. The route isn't technical at all. Wind speed: 4,9 m/s.
