Down in the south of Africa, in the Maseru District of the state Lesotho riders are racing the Lithoteng Climbs race. Through a not so inspiring and barren landscape with the city Maseru as centre of the region and little towns with houses of corrugated sheets the riders will have to conquer three climbs. The final climb will lead the peloton to the top where the Parliament of Lesotho settles. It is here where the parliament of Lesotho decided to create a climbing race to promote the region for tourists and the cycling sport for their young citizens. Before the Parliament building the fastest climbers will, if there was no partition between the best climbers, sprint for victory.

The terrain in Lithoteng Climbs includes many hard climbs and has hard downhills. The terrain has no hills and has only a few flat roads. The stage ends on a tough climb. The finishing climb gets steep from time to time. The route isn't technical at all. Wind speed: 5,3 m/s.
