With the General Classification likely already decided, this flat route will present an opportunity to finalize the Sprint Classification.
The peloton will likely enjoy a casual pace until they cross the Merrimac River and look to reign in the breakaway group of the day. The sprinting teams will want to bring the peloton together before they pass through Cambridge, as the final route to Faneuil Hall in Boston is full of tight turns and brief cobble sections.
Along the route, the riders will pass the Old State House, where the Queen of England was once presented with a check to pay for the tea dumped in Boston Harbor’s famous Tea Party. As the riders pass the spot of the famed Boston Massacre on the Freedom Trail, the short cobble section will induce leadout trains to raise the pace. The finish at "the cradle of liberty", Faneuil Hall in the center of Quincy Market, will close the Race of the Minutemen in a hard-fought sprint on yet another short section of cobbles.
After the tour the locals will be lined up outside of the famous bar, Cheers, while they hope for autographs from the big winners of the tour.
