The third stage of the Giro di Sicilia starts from Siracusa. The peloton rides northwards alongside the coast to Messina, at the northeast corner of Sicily. When they pass Catania for the third time during this tour, the riders will have a breathtaking view on the impressive Etna volcano. Let’s hope it stays silent! At their right hand the mainland of Italy gradually appears, at the other side of the Strait of Messina.
