The city of Valparaíso hosts the first stage in this six-day tour. We all know this city since the big fire in 2014, leaving thousands of people homeless. The first stage, a 10-kilometre ITT, won’t pass through the region where the fire raged, though, but will instead follow the boulevards. While the first part will pass along some nice, touristic beaches, the second half of this time trial will feature the great seaport of Valparaíso, which is the biggest of Chile.
The hills on which Valparaíso will not be part of the tour yet, they will have to wait till the last stage. Instead, the whole route is pretty straightforward, without any technical difficulties at all. As so, the stronger TT’ers among the climbers might take their first seconds before the mountains come.
