The San-people called this region The Land God Made in Anger and this underlines the nature of the difficulty of the stage. After 55 kilometers in which echelons will be ever-present, the peloton will take a turn in eastern direction and start the endless climb towards the Central Plateau of Namibia.
The next 85 kilometers will all be uphill, though the percentages will never be that high. Heading in a northern direction through Bergsig, the last difficulty of the day presents itself. This shorter climb along the C43 towards Palmwag has a final kilometer at 10%, where the best climbers of the day will try to get a head start for the downhill section towards the finish line.
