In the city where once a one hundred year old man jumped out of a window and disappeared, the peloton will gather for the start of the first stage.
This stage will be very short, but far from an easy ride. From Växjø the riders make their way south, before turning eastward at Ingelstad. The roads are mostly flat and will pass the beautiful Rottnen lake, and lead through Hovmantorp.
In the final kilometers, the route suddenly becomes incredibly technical as the riders will have to twist and turn their way through Lessebo, pass the train station, and take a narrow and hardly paved road towards the finish line. The line is drawn on a dam close to the famous Lessebo paper mill, which produces paper that is sold throughout Scandinavia.
After this morning stage, the riders will have to hurry to get to Alvesta, where the Cup will continue in the afternoon.
