A new force in the world of cycling has emerged from the Caribbean, as a new team based in Trinidad and Tobago announces its official launch after a month of starting operating.
The team, comprised of a mix of young talent and experienced riders, has already begun to make its mark on the competitive cycling scene, achieving several minor successes and steadily climbing the ranks in higher divisions. Some signings were already made to ensure the team is ready to perform in these divisions, although it looks like they will need some time to develop.
Team Manager, Akio G, expressed confidence in the future of the team: “We are proud of how far we’ve come in such a short time. The passion and dedication of our riders are paying off, and the results speak for themselves. We’re committed to pushing further, competing at a higher level, and bringing home more victories for Trinidad and Tobago.”
He also added "Given that, It’s important that we understand the challenges of each category and make sure that our riders are prepared at every level. We don’t want to rush into tougher competitions without the necessary experience and development. Our focus is on building a sustainable, long-term foundation".
With sights set on competing in even tougher divisions, the team is preparing for a rigorous schedule of upcoming races. For the time being it looks like rider Kamiel Schooters will be stepping in as the new captain of the team, replacing experienced rider Chris Ocallaghan.
