Mid-season HQ migration

Written by Navarone Cycling Team at 21:50 11/6-2021

Following the trend of small nation teams, in a somewhat unexpected move, Navarone CT has moved its HQ from Andorra to Uzbekistan. The rationale is to be able to help a small nation none of whose current teams is strong in SP, FR or CB, by helping with talent generation and developing good enough riders of those specialties, but without the burden of having to manage the NT myself. The attachment with Antonov and Karcev made it a toe to toe decision between Macedonia and Uzbekistan, but 'u' being near the end of the alphabet, hence helping find it fast in drop-down menus (this is why I chose Andorra before in the first place), is what tipped the balance.

Since we are announcing, the team is happy to have signed his first truly marquee sprinter, Radko Kindl. He will be tour captain by default unless someone else has TF (so not very often) and will allow us to race pure sprints. We feel this addresses the imbalance between CB, FR and SP teams nicely. The cost has been losing future Astana star Van Sang Huynh, but he was captain just 1 day per season, so the impact is moderate enough. I feel this is one of the best decisions we ever made and I hope time proves us right.

Also DS got tired of Karcev gaining training points, so he was sent to get some CL training, and he maxed after 174 training points, 23 of which have been race training, being the highest ever documented for Navarone CT, and extremely likely also the highest overall even for those non accurately documented. For those curious, he has gained 5 points each in SP-FR-TQ for a total of 15, so next time think it twice before giving sprinters random CL training ;)

Finally, Fabrice Ezekwesili got his first victory, and what a first - team's 100th!

  See us in Vuelta,
  Gerard

Nice gesture, that your talent feature may reward you

Schiavi di Don at 11:45 14/6-2021
The fact that Greenland is impossible to get to straight away on those drop down menu's (because of Greece being the same first 4 letters) is the main regret I have for choosing them. So you made a wise decision. ;)

Welcome to the comrades !The Comrades are certainly bolstering. Uzbekistan, Lithuania, Ukraine all expanding and the arrival of Estonia.

Welcome! It will be of great value to the NT to have an Uzbek team focussing on the flatter disciplines!

Universal Soup at 04:31 12/6-2021
Good luck, but they haven't heard of short cuts or pressing the drop down menu and hit A or M in Andorra or Uzbekistan yet?

Hopefully Kindl can bring you to a N-L success too.

Velosipedska at 02:00 12/6-2021
Wow! I suddenly saw a strange flag in my contacts. Congrats on the move! I'd have to berate you for not choosing beautiful Macedonia, but Uzbekistan is probably nice too... probably =(

Glad to hear about Karcev though! Hope he's succesful for you once he reaches captain age.
