The Late Show With JHDZ #17 - hhauge

Written by TeamQuetzal at 20:09 3/5-2017

Hello ladies and gentlemen and welcome to the Late Show with Johnathan Hernandez!

  Races

Ouma´s Challenge in South Africa, was yesterday taken by Bermudan rider, from Starlynk Bermuda: Guy Lesley. Comsin Mitu from Romania took second place and the third place was occupied by my Uruguay Latin friend and current WC: Blas Corretja. Zyte (I see that name everywhere) Division saw Critérium Monaco happen. Sherlock Toll was the fastest in the massive sprint at the arrival, being closely followed by Yulian Abdulov and Qasim Lamal.

  Videos of the Day

Yesterday, we introduced the Question of the Day, and the Monthly Ode in 5he Late Show. Today we are introducing another segment, Videos of the Day! Do not expect something nice in here. I´ll put the weirdest shit and some comedy that I can found. There will be three videos a day. Enjoy! (Or maybe not)

  Question of the day

Today´s question: Do you agree with the new and extremely controversial Giro descending competition?

  Talk Segment

Ladies and gentlemen please welcome from Silver Giant, the one, the only: hhauge!
JHDZ: To start it off, how are you?
HHAUGE: I am fine-ish. Some personal stuff is filling my mind, but generally speaking I’m fine.
JHDZ: What made you like cycling?
HHAUGE: Watching Tour de France on the TV during the summers in the late 80’s and consequently finding Jørgen Leth’s movies in my local library.
JHDZ: Nice. I like Sunday in Hell. How did you join OCM?
HHAUGE: I was part of a Dutch forum building databases for Pro Cycling Manager. Someone dumped a link there. Quite a lot of us joined, but only two of us remain active.
JHDZ: The Dutch forums god damn…I gotta find them. Haha. Tell me hhauge, what made you stay?
HHAUGE: I love that this is game where I do not automatically lose because I am not online 24/7. I can actually have a resemblance of normal life next to OCM. In addition, I like that there are way more goals in OCM than being number one.
JHDZ: What has been your best moment in the game?
HHAUGE: I have several to choose from.
In Season 30 François Gasana won 3 youth classifications; Perm, Norway and GdM.
In Season 39, he won Volta ao Porto.
I am proud of both and many more moments, but my favorite moment in the game is when a new World Tour is starting. Those few days before the first WT race are filled with hope and promise and you completely forget that Burundi is not a real WT A team and you will end up slightly disappointed again ;-)
  JHDZ: Something you miss?
HHAUGE: I miss more Burundians being created. Also, I tend to miss sign-up for a lot of tours.
JHDZ: I meant missing from the past, but that´s ok I guess haha! You have reached iconic work with the NT and more stuff. How have you managed this?
HHAUGE: There is no real secret to the Burundian NT. I train every Burundian with semi good stats. I have probably been lucky with relative high maxes.
Many seasons ago we were 2 Burundian managers taking turns with the NT. I did quite better than the other guy, so I must be doing something right. In addition, it is not exactly a disadvantage that I can take all six NT riders off RB before the WT race or that I can plan the WT races like regular races. (I am terrible at making and sticking to plans, though.)
  JHDZ: Favorite OCM manager
HHAUGE: I do not socialize much on OCM but I have huge respect for managers like stoosh and Llotyhy (along with the other Dutch Bermudians) who play the game much as I do but perform much better. Also shout outs to managers like Jonas and ABK who have been here for ages but still help newbies on the forum. Moreover, I respect Donald tremendously for taking a lot of crap and heat without having a fit.
  JHDZ: Favorite OCM rider
HHAUGE: All non-Burundian riders are made up of 0’s and 1’s, so for me it will be a sad day when François Gasana informs me that he would like to retire. Same goes for a slightly lesser extent for Frédéric Mukamurenzi and Audace Birori.
JHDZ: Plans for the future of your team?
HHAUGE: Somehow, my team finished in Top Division last season and I am not far off this season. Lately, much to my surprise, I have realized that I would like to establish Silver Giant as a permanent Top Division team.

JHDZ: JHDZ: Ladies and gentlemen that was hhauge! Lots of applause for him! If you have any suggestions or want to be a guest please leave a comment or PM, I answer to all messages. Please subscribe and do not forget that the Late Show with JHDZ is live from 20:00 GMT +1 all weeknights. Stay classy folks and at a 100% and see you tomorrow!
