Welcome ladies and gentleman to the Late Show with Johnathan Hernandez!! And before we start with the show I would like to present myself. I am, as you must know, Mexican, from a French mother and Mexican father. I speak fluently English, French and Spanish. I love cycling and I certainly love OCM and I thank Nick for creating such an awesome game with awesome people. The game has its flaws of course, like everything in life, but they are so small that you don´t even notice. And to finish this, I would like to thank YOU for reading this and giving me the chance to present this show I have worked so hard on. So, thanks and without further delay let´s jump straight into yesterday´s action!
Races
Yesterday´s biggest race was Top Division´s Porto-Castelo Branco, which was won by two time YC winner and one time GC winner of Perm Tour, Portuguese rider Lúcio César from CyclingClubChomutov and the podium was completed by Koenraad Grasmaaijer from Il Grillo in second place and in third place we have Kurt Tielemans from polish team AK Pro Race. Zyte Division saw German hilly race Bochum Fahrt won by Stjepan Veljkovic from AKROBATE and the podium was completed by Gerwin Lute and Eleanor Berka. World Tour has stopped for a while now and you all know why. Clash of Nations is here and almost over and Denmark has the W in the pocket since France´s manager completely forgot to sign-up in this important race. With no surprise Denmark´s awesome management has gotten the perfect rider to win yesterday´s CoN Sydney with Andreas Stoorgard and the podium is completed by Daniel Larsson from Sweden and Gresham Judkins from England.
Transfers
There hasn´t been any big moves in the transfer market recently. Gherman Cristache from familytour was bought by DCM for 340.000$ last Saturday and that is the only “big” transfer that has happened recently.
Talk Segment
To make this show interesting we present the talk segment which consists of interviews with managers of the OCM world, ladies and gentlemen please welcome our first guest, the one, the only: Don Hamstre!
JHDZ: Hello Don thanks for coming and first of all, how are you?
DON: I am still the greatest gift to earth ever created by our Holy Lord. So, I guess I'm fine.
JHDZ: Yeah, well… some of us might as well disagree with that, but tell us when did you start playing OCM?
DON: 2011, so I've actually been in OCM for over half its lifetime now.
JHDZ: How did you started playing OCM?
DON: Being a hamster, it can be difficult to find places to socialize apart from Maffia life, so I decided to look around for a cycling team to invest in. OCM gave me that chance. After 2.5 years, the initial team was still crap, so I bought another one, this time in my beloved Italy. This time the doping and bribes did catch on.
JHDZ: Is it hard to be an Administrator?
DON: After you've bribed yourself into the position it's a piece of cake of course. But there are some moral dilemma's involved, and where I would usually just throw people into the shark tank, it is a bit more complicated here, as Nick wants me to take personal feelings into account. So, no swimming with the fishes for my victims, just no wildcard or a team shut down.
JHDZ: Please tell us what has marked you the most since coming to OCM
DON: Apart from the whole 'Maffia boss' identity (I will let that narrative go now, I think people get the idea :p), it has been the fact that I have been an incredible noob for over three years and still got to contribute in the game bigly, in discussions, at the Awards, writing articles, designing races. And I couldn't play the game at all in the meantime XD. Although some people will disagree, I think I did get the hang of it now, but it was great fun to be able to suck and still be influential.
JHDZ: Who is your favorite manager in OCM?
DON: Will always be EEO. Legend, hero, relaxed mentality, just epic.
JHDZ: Who is your favorite rider of the OCM universe?
DON: That has to be Amos Gorden, my home-grown hero. Hasn't performed at all outside of my team, but still got me quite far as a starting captain on the new team when, in a great coincidence, I could pick him up on the day I started over. Also, I wrote a Limerick about him in his Biography. It is the most poetic thing I ever did. That will probably give you an idea at how poetical I am.
JHDZ: Have you ever wanted to quit OCM? Have you ever felt the necessity of leaving this game?
DON: Nope. Addicted from 2011 until now.
JHDZ: What has been the craziest thing you have ever done here in OVM?
DON: When I made the Cambodian name database (which is a pretty weird thing to do in the first place), I put the first name 'Pol' and the surname 'Pot' in it. Some readers might want to be a bit careful before they google that name. I still hope he will pop up some day. ;)
Other crazy things I did are not to be mentioned in public.
JHDZ: Yup, might as well put Adolf and Hitler in the German database huh? Anyway, what do you like the most of OCM?
DON: The freedom there is to make your own plan and have fun with it. Of course, you have to get a healthy start first. But once you've settled in the top-3 divisions, you can play around training riders from fun nations, or with nice names.
And of course, the community, with the chat at its center. There are people in there that I know better than some of my closest friends. And that's not all because I spend too much time on OCM. ;)
Meeting OCM people in real life turned out to be surprisingly fun as well.
JHDZ: Well ladies and gentlemen that was Don Hamstre! If you have any suggestions or want to be a guest please leave a comment or PM, I answer to all messages.
